Who Am I?
About Me
I’m Mia, your friendly neighbourhood nutritionist, with a deep passion for learning and sharing knowledge! My obsession with all things brain started in my teenage years when my grandfather was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease; I wanted to learn everything I could to understand and help. But the more I learned, the more questions I had. Even then, I could see the undeniable link between the gut and brain, yet also the gaps in communication between healthcare practitioners, leaving patients stuck in the middle. And so, the seed was planted in my mind.
Along the way, food intolerances and allergies became a primary topic in my family and friend circles, and I quickly discovered that I had a knack for recipe creation for all sorts of dietary restrictions - without compromising on taste or quality. The constant talk of healthy versus unhealthy and restrictive diets led me down a path of disordered eating. Oh, the mental battle! And so, mental health and nutrition piqued my interest, and back to school I went, becoming the nutritionist you will come to know today.
Shake to combine and…
I brought that brain curiosity back into the mix and landed on the practice I hold today. I specialize in nutritional counselling for eating disorder recovery and for those struggling with gut and stress-related disorders and diseases. In my practice, I have seen how large of an impact mental health has on our physical body and decided to dedicate additional research and efforts in this department. Moreover, I encourage your participation throughout this entire journey because I firmly believe that we know our bodies more than anyone else - it just takes a little guidance and education to realize its incredible healing potential. So, let's embark together on this adventure of discovery and transformation!
